I remember a lot of so-called POOR-THIEVING-SCUM-BASTARDS were transported (from England) to Australia 222 years ago. Were they 'GYPSY-NOMADIC-TRAVELLERS' as well ? The above title can be connected to nearly every nation's 'desperately poor' (especially irresponsibly over-populated nations) while the Romantic use of words like Gypsy is used when such people are not being 'Thieving bastard scum' and are putting forth something 'culturally enriching' for some coin. I come from Australia (in the Region known as Sahul) where Aboriginal Peoples were proud and amazing examples of NOMADS, until 'restrictions' and other 'civilised' inflictions were placed upon them and they became POOR-THIEVING-BASTARD-SCUM like everyone else. Now we see SURVIVOR programs where Civilised (City) people stumble around in an effort to live as Nomadic & Gypsy as possible ...with little success.
Aboriginals were originally Gypsy-Nomad - where they walked 'free' in a country that they had turned into the world's biggest Estate of Natural Parkland.
