a neighborhood located within the East Village in the New York City borough of Manhattan. Its name comes from Avenues A, B, C, and D, the only avenues in Manhattan to have single-letter names.

day hoe 

Someone who works banker's hours as opposed to a shift worker. The regularity of their schedule as well as evenings and weekends off can be considered desirable however not challenging. To obtain one of these positions you must be either a) high ranking, b) amazing at your job, or all too often c) a malingerer or duty-shammer.

The day hoes didn't have to come in at all on Monday because it was Columbus day.
