complify
(Verb) The direct, strategic antonym or polar opposite of "simplify" in algebra and mathematics. To intentionally make a clean expression temporarily more complex by adding new variables or terms, specifically to find a common denominator and solve a larger equation. Colloquially used when a math teacher makes a homework problem look terrifyingly difficult right before a trick makes it incredibly easy.
I couldn't add 2/y + 3/x, so I had to complify them into 2x/yx + 3y/yx first. Don't panic, the teacher is just complifying the equation so we can add the variables in the next step turning it into 2y + 3x/yx
