A state of near-total ignorance, especially regarding subjects concerning racism, politics, sexism or homophobia. Often a person suffering from indifferent ignorance is vaguely aware that they have not researched or considered their opinions, but they are not inclined to research or consider them.

A large amount of indifferent ignorance stems from the tabloid press, party political propaganda and agreeing with the views of the people by whom you were raised.
"This gentleman just waved 'The Daily Mail' in my face and told me that the EU is taking British jobs. Is that indifferent ignorance or what?"
