Jamaican slang for when a girl gets pregnant for one man, but then gives the baby to another man. The reason why they call it "jacket" is because the level of comfort he feels from accepting another man's child can be compared to the comfort one gets from wearing a jacket, suggesting that he has no idea he's just been duped. It has been culturally engrained in the psyche of the Jamaican people that "jacket" is a lighthearted topic, and one deserving the ridicule of the public, often at the expense of the man receiving the jacket. It is very common to assume that if a light-skinned baby is born to two dark-skinned parents, that the baby must then be a jacket.
Sami gave Austin a jacket by getting pregnant for Lucas, then passing baby Will off as Austin's son.
