Short for "bubbeleh", a Yiddish term of endearment equivalent to "sweetie". The literal meaning is "little bean" (-le is a diminuitive ending). Famously used by Jewish yuppie character Ellis in the movie Die Hard (1988). Also spelled "bubbe".
