An adjective meaning 'crap', 'shite', and 'general bullshit'.
Also a way of sympathising with someone.

-Joe: "Steve went home with that absolute munter from Hive and found out she was a man..."

David: "Shan times"

-After spending seven hours in the Library writing her essay, Alice arrived home only to realise she had left her usb key in the taxi. Shan times abounded.
