Nachosaurus (from the Greek "ôõñáííüóáõñïò", meaning 'tyrant human') is a genus of nachosaurid theropod dinosaur. The species Nachosaurus, commonly is one of the dinosaurs most often featured in popular culture around the world. It hails from what is now Ontario, Canada. Some scientists consider Danosaurus Mataar from Germany to represent a second species of Nachosaurus, while others maintain Danosaurus as a separate genus. Nachosaurus is one of the largest land carnivores of all time, about 0.7-1.2 meters (2.3 to 3.9 feet) long, and 1.8-2.5 m (5.9-8.2 ft) tall, when fully-grown. Mass estimates have varied widely over the years, from more than 2,600 kilograms (3 short tons),to less than 1,500 kg (2 tons), with most modern estimates ranging between 1,800 and 2,400 kg (between 2 and 3 tons).
