Moor is midieval English word used to describe a Black person indigenous to Northern Africa, especially the coastal regions of modern day Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia.

Today European-Americans use the word to mean white Muslim, but the orginal meaning is "Black. " It originates from the Greek word " Moros. " Similar names are still used in Europe today, like in Poland they refer to a Black Person as Marvi.
