Ivan the
Terrible was a very messed up person, but his
people followed him no matter what. Probably out of fear. Many of his followers dubbed him "Grozny" which some have translated to mean "the Terrible" but actually means "the
Awesome."
"Yeah man, that
dude was all up in his face until the other
dude went all grozny"
You can pretty much use the word however you feel like. It can be used to convey something horrible happening, like raping or pillaging in the 1500's, or being
awesome in the 21st century. It's a very versatile word.
