Religion 

Something people decide to believe in not because they actually believe in it, but because the fear of going to hell.

guy1: I don't believe in god because it can never be prooven, and it's just a ridiculous story.

guy2: you're going to hell, but yeah its a ridiculous story in my opinion too. That is why I have a religion, so i will go to Heaven.
