The most significant event on April 16, 2014, was the sinking of the ferry MV Sewol in South Korea. The ferry was en route from Incheon to Jeju when it sent a distress signal. Tragically, out of 476 passengers and crew, 304 died, including many high school students on a field trip. The disaster exposed safety issues and a slow response by authorities, leading to national grief and outrage in South Korea.
On April 16 2014, the Sewol Ferry sank, may the victims rest in peace 🎗️
