I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream is a 1967 short story about a computer made for war called "AM". AM stands for several things, most importantly: Allied Mastercomputer, Adaptive Manipulator and Aggressive Menace. AM's main background is that he commit genocide and killed all of humanity aside from 5 people.
He keeps these 5 people around to torture just so he can show his hatred for humanity. He denies these people of death constantly.
I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream was also adapted into a game in 1995. This game is available on Steam. It follows a similar story to the book, except it is greatly expanded on. Instead of having one ending, where Ted is turned into a monster that has no mouth and must scream. It also has a good ending where humanity overcomes AM.
