Cognosluggard
A person whose cognitive uptake moves at the pace of a slug — slow to associate, slow to connect, slow to catch the joke that landed three sentences ago. Not stupid, necessarily. Just sluggish in the wiring. The cognitive equivalent of standing on the left side of the escalator. Often found explaining things back to you that you literally just said, or asking the question you already answered.
Coined as a moisturised, gentler upgrade of "cognitive idiot" — the slug shell softens the insult without dulling its edge. You can call someone a cognosluggard at a dinner party and they'll nod along, none the wiser, which is rather the point.
Opposite of someone with a RAISIN brain (Rapidly Associating Intuitive Semantically Innervated Neurotype) — where the cognosluggard is still loading the page, the RAISIN has already closed the tab and opened three others.
