Name created in 1998 by Emily Quelch in New Zealand, for her daughter, word was taken from greek word for goddess Thea and made into a name which sounds like "Tiana" but pronounced Tay-ah-na to differentiate it from the name which comes from "follower of christ"; tiana. Thea was also a name given to the moon sometimes by Greek people and it can mean "shining".
