when you visit the popular website you tube. after looking at one video, you get distracted into watching an interesting looking video in the 'related videos' section. Another distraction follows, and another, and so on and so on, until you discover that you has spent a surprising amount of time, and are now watching something totally unrelated to what you went on there for. Example 1: i've got about ten minutes to kill, so i think i'll hop on the you tube train and see where it takes me.
Example 2: you'd never believe where the you tube train just took me. i went on to do my favourite old search of 'fat kid falls', and i ended up watching a video of a dog dancing on it's hind legs to the james bond theme music. what an awesome world we live in. |

The phenomenon that occurs when the same video uploaded by many different users occupies the first few pages of the You Tube 'most viewed' section. The same video of President Bush getting a shoe thrown at him is all over the 'most viewed' section of You Tube. It's good to have 30 different versions of the same thing uploaded for my viewing pleasure. The video has been You Shoed.

a person who spends way too much time watching you-tube videos. This person often looses track of time and has no idea that they just spent almost their entire day/ night watching really bad videos. Symptoms include- talking about the videos they watched to their friends , not realizing that the friend doesn't really care about the stupid video(s). Another symptom is dark rings around the eyes and rotten teeth and bad breath because the you-tubeaholic normally eats junk food because they have no time to cook a healthy meal because of the time spent watching the videos clare- have you seen tony lately ??
