Stitched up: Being lied to or mistreated, being told something by someone and they do the opposite of what they told you.
Person A: I got Stitched up by my friends
Person B: How?
Person A: I invited loads of my friends over to my house and it's been an hour an they haven't shown up. So I asked them where they were and they'd invited loads more people to their house.

To pass on a task or job onto somebody that already has too much work or stress without the request job to be passed on. The job is passed on without consent hense the 'stitch up'
To Stitch Up is to ot turn up to work when something needs to be done that day, having not told anyone about certain jobs that need to be done so it gets picked up by someone else who has no choice.

To skilfully and surgically pass a large amount of work onto someone who hasn't requested the work or the responsibility.

The stitch up is usually between friends or colleagues who take great enjoyment at drowning each other in responsibility and project deliverables.
Nick had one goal, and that was to make sure he didn't end up with any tasks to manage. He needed to stitch up someone fast. Luckily for Nick, Matt was unprepared for the verbal tirade of professional compliments in the opening minutes of the meeting that made him a certainty to take the lead and workload.
