RARBG
My last definition was a bit wrongly put. Long story short, RARBG is like if you took Reddit and made into a torrent site. Possibly the best place to torrent high bitrate movies, but the comments section is too concerned about one-upping each other with snarky quips and crass jokes.
As described by one user in the RARBG comments:
"This place (RARBG) is beginning to feel like Reddit or Twitter because people are more interested in making "clever" quips about whatever social topic is popular; airing their misdirected and laughably thin grievances about something they don't actually understand or care to understand, because being "funny" and getting attention on the internet is obviously far more important and fulfilling..."

RARBG
One of the absolute best torrenting sites for downloading movies and TV shows. It has other stuff like games and porn, but it's mostly for movies. Unlike TPB or YIFY, RARBG offers far more better quality rips (i.e. higher bitrate and huge file sizes). Great for those who have fast and unlimited internet. It shares similarities to the old defunct torrenting site publicHD, chiefly its focus on providing high quality rips.
While that is great and all, unfortunately the site is marred by one of the most shittiest comment sections. Everybody talks either like an opinionated cultural critic or some highbrow intellectual (it's just a damn torrenting site, folks!) The mods there are fucking despicable assholes that will take away your freedom of speech. Expect your comments to be deleted for no reason. And if they don't like what you say, they will permaban you without any warning. It's seriously infuriating as I have said nothing that is (or could ever be viewed as) toxic. Simply critiquing a comment, providing a balanced viewpoint or going against the 'hivemind' seems to anger the mods. As a result, the comments exhibit a slight bias towards right-wing thought. Expect anti-LBGTQ and anti-SJW sentiments sprinkled with rhetoric.

RARBG is a torrenting site that was shut down by the owners on May 31, 2023.
It was hands down objectively one of the best torrenting site for movies. They had super high quality rips that you just couldn't find elsewhere (i.e. 20GB+ file sizes). Overall, they did many things right that other torrent sites simply lacked, such as introducing H.265 formats, listing the movie metadata on the torrent page, or a conveniently-placed section of all the latest popular movies.
The only thing that won't be missed is those rowdy discussion threads. It was like a circlejerk for hundreds of cis-males (likely 20s to early 40s) to vent their hatred towards women, minorities and everything else they perceive as woke. Literally every comment on every damn movie torrent has to have someone criticizing how woke a movie is, or some satirical joke. And if someone has an opinion that goes against the RARBG hivemind, people start dogpiling on them. It's like 4chan.
Moderation was also wack AF. I've had a total of five router changes these past 5 years, and for every new IP address I've been promptly banned from the comments for just expressing an opinion about the comments. And yet they just let the dozens of other toxic, distasteful commenters run amok.

Also, the power price increase in data centers in Europe hit us pretty hard.
Inflation makes our daily expenses impossible to bare.
Therefore we can no longer run this site without massive expenses that we can no longer cover out of pocket.
After an unanimous vote we've decided that we can no longer do it.

And the remaining 5% is just people simply saying "thank you". Lol.
Moderation was also wack AF. Ive had a total of five router changes these past 5 years, and for every new IP address I've been banned from the comments for the most trivial things. And yet they just let the dozens of other toxic, distasteful commenters run amok. Either the mods have a bias or they are bad at modding.
