As coined by Kanye West on Funkmaster Flex's Hot 97 radio show.

Named after Twitter hashtags.

Often used by Kanye himself, Drake and Nicki Minaj.

Kanye claims the style was spawned from his song "Barry Bonds".
Examples of hashtag rap:
"Here's another hit; Barry Bonds "
- Kanye West - "Barry Bonds (ft. Lil' Wayne)"

Two thumbs up; Ebert and Roeper
- Drake - "Over"
