A phrase used to describe canine behavior, especially in
toy breeds during an encounter with a squeaky dog toy. Symptoms includes severe anxiety, shaking, hopping, and running in circles. Although this behavior is seen in
dogs not affected by the disorder, symptoms in
dogs who are affected are much more severe in nature. Later stages of this disorder manifests itself in total obsession and compulsion with the source of the squeak noise. These
dogs may be of danger to themselves or others, especially those who attempt to intervene.
