Edutourism 

The act of being a tourist and actually learning something about skill or activity found locally in your destination instead of walking around completely oblivious to the culture that surrounds you.

To engage in an educational activity or program while travelling abroad. Programs can last anywhere between one to four weeks and consist of a crash course that covers in-depth knowledge, insider trade secrets and hands-on learning.

I went on a two week edutourism program in Thailand last summer where I spent my time learning how to train, handle, care for and ride Asian elephants much like a traditional mahout.

Ecotourism is a tourism directed toward exotic, often threatened, natural environments, intended to support conservation efforts and observe wildlife.

People in Kenya use ECOTOURISM to make money and raise awareness for their native animals.
