Another mispelling of definitely almost as popular as the really dumb mispelling definately. definetly is also stunningly common, more than definitly. Hard to believe, even definatly is used quite often.
When I wrote definetely I was definitely thinking of #define and thus I must be a computer geek.

The correct way to spell the oft misused DEFINATELY.
Note that "finite" appear in the word, stresing the "limits" that the definition below implies.

Adjective. Used to describe something you believe to be absolute fact but then reneg on your convictions half way through the phrase to cover your own ass.
