Pulling a Jaybear

A rhetorical tactic wherein a person involved in a debate or discussion dispenses with actually knowing anything about the topic in dispute before rejecting it.
"Yeah, he's spouting off about quantum mechanics, even though he knows virtually nothing about the subject. He's pulling a jaybear."
