It is a name given to a men's hairstyle that allows the individual to wear it professionally, in a more conservative and business-like atmosphere but also allows the professional to wear it in an edgy and voguish style outside the office.

I saw a lot of guys sporting profawks at the Young Professional's Organization mixer last Thursday.
