Jim Moriarty is probably the best villain you will ever have the pleasure of watching. He is both scary and superfunny at times. He is the center of a web. He is a consulting criminal. Played by the fabulous actor Andrew Scott.
You should see him in a crown.
Jim Moriarty can go from super wacky to dark and scary...

Jim: Every story needs a good old fashioned villain.

Random guy: I will burn the HEART out of you

A suicidal, immigrant, geography teacher that hates every fiber of his being and his students. Very sweaty; very Irish. And very ginger. He spills his coffee down his shirt as ge gets unimaginably depressed and gets mental break downs when he gets bullies by his year 7 classes.
When you write a show, and you can't excite your audience with nothing but empty promises of a long-dead villain appearing over and over again in every situation you can put him into without saying he's alive or dead. You're trying to keep your audience, but you'll never gonna bring him back, while basically basing your whole show on the fact that he MIGHT be back. It's bad writing and it makes peoplesad.
"Did you see the new season of Sherlock? Is Jim really alive?"
"Nah, it was a total moriarty baiting the whole time... there's Sherlock's evil sister instead."
