The name of the hero of the wide-spread Harry Potter books and movie series, written by J.K. Rowling.

It sparked the revival of reading in children, and later, the explosion of fanfictions and very strange couplings (like, Draco and Harry). It has also made popular the activity of lining up for six hours in costume outside a bookstore of movie theater for a new release.

It has caused many a strife, whether it be between Harry-Hermione and Ron-Hermione shippers, or between Twilighters and HPers. Also, many boys who tend to look like Harry Potter (that is, dark hair and with glasses, no matter the color of his hair or eyes) are split with being extremely annoyed by it or being very honored.
It is common knowledge among the Harry Potter community that Harry Potter is better than Twilight, that Rubert Grint is now officially the hottest ginger and Tom Felton the hottest blond in the world, and that Cedric Diggory died and was turned into a sparkly vampire.
Recently, the Harry Potter craze has redirected from the finished books to the website My Life is Average and the musical A Very Potter Musical.
I spend my free time going to Walmart in my full Ravenclaw gear and screaming AVADA KEVDARA at any employee that tries to kick me out.

My childhood ended when I finished reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

I'm gonna start a Quidditch team at my school! I'm so cool!

1.
A series of books that most people haven't read but don't hesitate to critcize, anyways. Often mistaken as books that are "just for kids", when the truth is they curse more than my older brother, are dark and depressing, but at the same time funny and lighthearted.
Dude: Harry Potter's gay.
Friend: Is that supposed to be an INSULT?!?!?!

Best book series and movie series ever!
J.K. Rowling is a genius for creating the story and I personally would like to thank her for bringing joy to my life with the books and movies.
Loser: You're going to pay $30 for a stupid book??
Healthy Obsessed Me: Thats funny, I thought you just called my pride and joy stupid. Ya know what else is funny? My foot in your ass!

5.
A seven-book series by author J.K Rowling about 'The Boy Who Lived'. HP is well-written and shouldn't be compared to Lord of the Rings being they are not even in the same category.
The fifth and latest Harry Potter book, Order of the Phoenix, sold over 5 million copies the day it came out.

6.
A series of books that are highly criticized by illiterate and utterly STUPID morons. No, Harry Potter is not a rip-off of LOTR. I'm reading LOTR now and they are different books.
Wow. I didn't know that stupidity exsisted at the level of the people who diss the books.

Actually, a really good series of books by J.K. Rowling.
Although Lord of the Rings is entirely original, and very good, it's no good for young kids because of the slower-moving plot.
Harry Potter is better for younger people.

The five books out now are:
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

There are two more books left to come.
My cousin is obsessed with Harry Potter, she actually makes out with his picture >gag<
