A wonderful young group singed by Barsuk records from the indie-rock homeland of Washington State. Name came from a psychedlic song from the 60's.
Not emo. Unfortunately, if you write lyrics that are borderline depressing you get labeled "emo" when their music is more in line with other bands of that areas like Modest Mouse, and even The Shins. Easily one of the greatest bands today. Emo? Please. Bright Eyes sounds even less emo these days.

A great talented indie rock band that has unfortunately been called an 'emo' band. All the emo rockers that listened to taking back sunday and brand new heard death cab for cutie and loved them. Since emo kids are totally lame and stupid, they started to call death cab 'emo.' death cab for cutie is a pop-indie band, not emo. Calling death cab for cutie an 'emo' band is like calling slayer a country band.

An indie pop quartet out of Bellingham, WA. Whose members include: Christopher Walla, Ben Gibbard, Nick Harmer, and Micheal Schorr. Formed in 1997. Albums: Something About Airplanes(99), We Have The Facts And We're Voting Yes(00), The Photo Album(01), Transatlanticism(03). Their name was taken from The Beatles film Yellow Submarine. On an episode of The O.C. Seth is so caught up with working on his comic book that he has to miss his favorite band, Death Cab For Cutie, play in town that night.

An AMAZING band that should be commended for their awesome melodic tunes and beautiful lyrical talent.
Seeing them live was easily the best concert I have ever been to. They sound exactly the same as they do recorded, and 4 weeks later, I am still in awe of their remarkable talent. I will always always love Death Cab. My favourite songs for newcomers who would like to download some Death Cab For Cutie ; I Was A Kaleidoscope, Styrofoam Plates, Passenger Seat, Blacking Out The Friction, Expo '86, Hindsight, Company Calls, What Sarah Said and I Will Follow You Into The Dark.
The Sound of Settling is Death Cab at it's worst. I hate that song. |
