Bandwagonism 

When somebody puts up a facebook status, email or message of any kind and asks you either to send it on to others or repost it. Once you have done this you have successfully achieved bandwagonism! It is usually to spread awareness of some kind but actually does nothing whatsoever in order to help the cause. Only done by people with nothing more interesting to say and usually have no knowledge of the cause itself.

The NSPCC change your facebook profile picture to a cartoon for abused children campaign. Lots of people were guilty of bandwagonism.

Bandwagonist 

A bandwagonist is someone who mindlessly goes along with an action or idea, without any real reason other than other people are doing it.

A prime example of Bandwagonists are Facebook politicans around the time of an election. They don't know why they hate David Cameron, they just do because the other people's statuses say so, and feel the urge to post similar statuses to be involved.

Joining into a popular trend that isn't enjoyable solely because it is popular.

I heard Kyle doesn't like golf at all.

Yeah man he's just bandwagoning because we're playing it.

The act of joining a popular activity even if it might not be enjoyable for the sole reason of it being popular.
