As supported by Wikipedia, Salvador Allende was the first Marxist ever to be elected to the national presidency of a liberal democracy with 33% of the vote and unconstitutional partnerships during the Cold War. Invited 50-year Cuban dictator Fidel Castro to Chile for 23 days for advice on how to change constitution and carry out communist-led revolution alike 1948 Czechoslovak coup d'état to turn Chile into a second Cuba. Plan backfired. Allende's presidency was ended by opposing forces on second attempt aka 1973 Chilean coup d'état. Augusto Pinochet led those forces and used any means necessary to get the job done.

Socialist hero and champion of the poor who was President of Chile from 1970-73. He was the first democratically elected Marxist in human history; a friend of Fidel Castro and admirer of revolutionary Che Guevara, yet he was totally dedicated to achieving socialism through peaceful, legislative means. Eventually his nationalization policies pissed off American multinational corporations and he was killed in a coup d'etat engineered by the CIA, replaced with a blood-soaked pro-US dictator named Augusto Pinochet, whose reign of terror lasted 17 years.
Salvador Allende was a man of the people, and thus an enemy of American corporate fascism.

Destroyer of Chile. World’s only marxist/communist elected president chosen with just 33% of the vote. Concerted Plan Z to use his personal trained militia to take over the military and rule the country like Cuba forever in his own terms. Even invited Fidel Castro over for months. Plan backfired when Augusto Pinochet kicked him out just 9 days before his plot on a second coup attempt given the misery in the country under his reign. International communists will always deny the Plan Z and talk about “how nice” Allende was and how Pinochet was sort of a monster and didn’t care about human rights. Bullshit.
