Acronym for Mixed Martial Arts. For Example, learning Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu (brazilian or not) is a good combination. Muay Thai is good for fighting on your feet, while in Jiu-Jitsu it is perferable to fight on the floor. You can combine as many as you like and adapt them to your personal fighting style.

Acronym for Mixed Martial Arts, which is a sport that combines all the martial arts you can think of, under the same rules. The sport isn't mainstream (yet), and has had trouble from some politicians who are trying to ban the sport, when there has not been a single death in a sanction MMA event, where as boxing has 6 deaths a year in sanctioned events. The main organistion in America is the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship). In Japan it is Pride FC. The main obvious difference is that UFC fighters fight in a cage, Pride is in a ring. There are several new upcoming organistions such as Strikeforce and the WFA.

mixed martial arts. the best contact sport ever boxing,wrestling,kickboxing etc ain't got nothing on mma. the best sport in the world. all fighting styles are welcomed but most styles prove to be obsolete by themselvees. you have to be well rounded.
if you think u can fight using one style prepared to be bitch slapped if you ever enter the world of mma.

Mixed Martial Arts. A sport in which competitors spar on a soft mat using safe techniques from various modified combat systems. The most well known MMA promotion is The UFC, which was originally formed in the early 90's by Rorion Gracie to bring in business for his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu dojo. Although it was originally marketed as a "No holds barred" tournament with no weight classes & limited rules, The UFC eventually sold out and repackaged itself as a polished safe sport in which high school jocks could compete for shiny belts. Techniques consist of elevated TRT levels, cauliflower ears & dementia pugilistica.

Probably the most overated sport ever. Consists of two tattooed and brainless men/women fighting in an octagon/ring/mat with no regard for human life. Humans weren't made to kick eachother's ass.
