The act of attending public gatherings--to be in a social setting--but then emitting a vibe that says you want to be left alone. Being there simply to be around others.

"Who reads a book at a bar?"

"She's just fauxializing."

Fauxialism

A system which claims to be Socialism but doesn't meet the parameters or ideals of Socialism.

The citizens were promised Socialism but all they got was Fauxialism.
