n. refering to a infield single in baseball that usually comes at a very important time in the game. It is inbetween a dink and a texas leaguer.
Daves hit a complete tater down the first baseline and was able to beat it out.

When Frank hit his tater, he raced down the baseline to beat it out. Instead of running properly though, he tripped over the bag onto his face.
