Originated from Netflix’s series “The Witcher” in which the titular character spends most of his days killing monsters for the people he meets. He is commonly viewed as an emotionless monster himself, but a bard writes a song about him in which he sings, “toss a coin to your Witcher, o valley of plenty...toss a coin to your Witcher, a friend of humanity”.
