theatre of cruelty

a form of theatre that was created by Antonin Artaud. It is a type of theatre that focuses of the audience's subconsciouns, their dreams and obbsessions. It involves mostely movement and gestures, not words or language. The actions often revolve around violnece, both physical and psychic, sex and insanity.
