"Harvesting schnooseberrys" is the act of sleeping during class for reasons A) you believe you know the information and your attentiveness is not required B) you are so tired that even if you tried to pay attention to the material be presented, apathetic or not, you would get nothing out of it and therefore just decide to sleep as it would be more beneficial C) you simply give 0 shits.
