Ceremonial or symbolic sword, made often of brass or bronze and wood, awarded to a fighter or gladiator after surviving a great number of battles in the Colliseum. Practice believed to be started by Roman gamesmen to salute those who freed themselves by struggle and their own efforts. Symbolism lies in struggle to earn one's freedom. Motifs include violence leading to redemption and ultimately freedom.
Proximo(Oliver Reed) from Ridley Scott's "Gladiator" told Maximus(Russell Crowe) how Marcus Aurelius(Richard Harris) gave him his rudius after he touched him on the shoulder..

Proximo: Listen to me. Learn from me. I was not the best because I killed quickly. I was the best because the crowd loved me. Win the crowd and you will win your freedom.

Usually, your greeting radius varies based on how much you like the person. Someone you are close friends with, will probably have a greeting radius of over 50ft. underpants radius

The distance a man is able to comfortably travel (from his bed) without pants; the average radius being just the distance to the shower.

It is theorized that a man's underpants radius is inversely proportional to his confidence; that is, the farther a man travels from his bed in just his underwear, the less he believes in himself.
At first we thought it was funny; at least Marshall didn't left the house without putting pants on. But his underpants radius just kept getting larger. He started getting the paper in his underwear and even going downstairs for a drink in his underwear...!

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
