1. The time when its not quite morning not quite night, any time between midnight and dawn but usualy centered around 3AM.
2. A farewell used during the aforementioned hours. A replacement for 'night or goodnight

This is a situation in which you’re talking to a friend in a different time zone where it is night for one person while it is early in the morning for the other person. This will end confusion on whether you say good morning or good night.

Friend 1: I should probably go to sleep it’s 6am here

Friend 2: Alrighty then I think I’m going to sleep too it’s like 1am here.
