Whenever you are in the middle of swallowing, and you attempt to speak while still having fluid in your throat, which makes your voice sound like a different person and it could come off really funny and awkward.

The bland generic voice you "hear" in your head when you're reading a shopping list to yourself. "Milk, bread, eggs, ..."

It's weird, I don't hear different voices when I read a book, everyone talks in the "milk voice".

When you have rather viscous fluid at the back of your throat and the tonality of your voice changes for the worse.
