lollacy

A common internet fallacy, in which one party responds to the logical argument of another by simply saying "lol." Often followed by or combined with an example of ad hominem, the response never actually presents an argument, and is paramount to simply admitting, "You have a point, good sir, but I will never admit you bested me in a battle of intellect!"

Ronald: "X is better than Y, because of Z"
James: "Lol! You're an idiot!"
Ronald: "Care to explain your reasoning?"
James: "Lol!"
Ronald: "That's a classic lollacy."
James: "Lol!"

Created by Erica in Southern California this word means that something isn't very funny. It's almost like that saying from the 80's "it's so funny I forgot to laugh". You can use it to respond to a boring joke. The word means it's so funny it almost put me to sleep.

The term then became popular with many other people and can now be commonly heard in many of London's student circles. Recent reports suggest the term is also breaking into mainstream use.
