referring to something that hijacks your life, usually an addiction of some sort

Deformation of character, finances, reputation, family, work and friends. Can be self inflicted or an attack and it's your total sphere of identity theft both digital and real life. by going off the rails or put upon you by trolls, solicitors, courts, enemies or directed advertising.

I just got totally lifejacked in my divorce by my wife!/lover!
