3. To embellish reality or create a false persona of self, friends or family meant to impress others.

Heroification

When we place someone on a pedestal and forgo the reality of their humanity thus erasing their flaws and our ability to perceive them humbly.

Helen Keller's story is a great example of heroification. We focus on the miracle of her ability to learn to speak and forgo the reality that she was a radical socialist. This retelling doesn't allow us to see her flaws and all, just like us. She becomes a hero instead of an ideal person.

hetification 

The act of a television show, movie, book, video game or other content taking a character with an ambiguous, undefined or potential LGBT orientation and giving them a straight love interest to affirm that the character is heterosexual. Media often does this to eliminate the possibility of LGBT relationships becoming canon, or speculation of a character's sexual orientation.

The eventual hetification of this character will ruin his relationship dynamic with his male friend.
