gauchette 

1. an outstanding and very kewl performance that nevertheless leaves a bitter taste in parts of the audience (colloquial adjective)
2. a 19th century parisian method of drying one's hair by using a horse, a violin string and generous amounts of butter.

although the word is as old the method, "gauchette"'s adjevtive meaning got popularized by a group of 20-somethings in bavarian banlieus during the late 2000s

A person (usually female) who is only pretending to be very rich, flashy and over-the-top.
