The anxious anticipation of receiving recognition or praise for a
personal achievement, often demonstrated by obnoxiously bragging or showing off on social
media. A flexpectation
may also include the expectation of receiving gifts, free drinks, or other perks from friends or acquaintances who are impressed by the achievement.
Example: "
Tommy had a massive flexpectation when he finally completed his 100th level of Candy Crush. He posted a screenshot of the achievement on Facebook, wrote a
1,000-word post about the strategies he used to get there, and even created a hashtag #CandyCrushMasterTommy. He was hoping to get at least 100 likes and a few congratulatory comments, and
maybe even a free dessert from his favorite restaurant. Unfortunately, his flexpectation was not met, and he only got a few likes and some eye-
rolling emojis from his friends."
