1) Your buddy gets too drunk and starts making a fool of himself. Someone (also quite drunk) takes it upon themselves to help them, usually poorly, and becomes the drunken martyr.
Person 1: "Did you hear about how Randy puked on Anna when she tried to help him last night? He was so drunk he couldn't even walk outside."
Person 2: "Well, that's what happens when you try and be a drunken martyr."
Person 2: "Well, that's what happens when you try and be a drunken martyr."
