this word has its roots in Satanism. It is said that in the 16th century, red headed Satanists (gingers) would use the name to help identify others who worshipped Satan. Today, the word is still used to help Satanists communicate with each other. For example, one might put 'crewfan' in his Xbox Live gamertag, or in his Twitter name.

Chris: Hey whats your Xbox gamertag? I want to play you in FIFA.
Johnny: Johnny1994, what's yours?
Chris: Mine is Crewfan11
Johnny: You fucking devil worshiping crewfan piece of shit! I should have known you were in league with Satan when I saw your fucking bonfire ginger hair!

Crewman Number Six

A movie or television show character who is completely expendable and whose only purpose on the show is to die. The character's death is usually used to demonstrate the gravity of the situation that the main characters will shortly find themselves in. See also redshirt; the two terms are synonymous, but this term is more commonly used within the entertainment industry as an inside joke.
