costectomy

Surgical removal of all or part of a rib. A procedure popularized in parts of Italy and France during the late twelfth century. Common amongst crusaders who spent years separated from their mistresses. The surgical removal of the rib was believed to facilitate chastity by allowing crusaders better mouth to penis auto-access and the ability to perform fellatio on themselves. Still practiced in parts of rural France.

The procedure is performed only rarely in women.
Francois was better able to focus on his studies after the costectomy.

Words you can keep

Contextomy

The art of removing words from a sentence (or a sentence from a paragraph) to change its context completely. Used commonly in movie posters when a film critic in their review has said something uncomplimentary. Also known as "false attribution" and is related closely to "quotation mining".
A movie or theatre critic may have reviewed the piece saying "The whole thing was a terrific bore, I laughed out loud at the ineptitude of the actors..."

The contextomy on the poster would then read: "Terrific! I laughed out loud!"

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
