To explain to a person with condescension. To assume you are more qualified to speak on a subject than a trained professional because of something you read on the Internet, or in a book, etc; or because of an assumption based on gender. (Including man/womansplaining).

Can be used as an umbrella or gender neutral term.
The antivaxxer condesplained to the doctor the dangers of the MMR vaccine based on a debunked paper.

Judy knew that men didn't know how to cook so she proceeded to condesplain a simple recipe to her coworker.

A non-sexist way to describe mansplaining: assuming your audience doesn't have the knowledge, experience or intelligence to understand what you are saying without a thoroughly condescending explanation of what you mean. Explaining with condescension is gender-neutral and universal.
While telling me about how cool the video was for "This is America", Arlene condesplained to me that Donald Glover and Childish Gambino are the same person, because obviously I didn't know that since I am in my late 40's and I am scared of the interwebs.

Get the condesplain mug.
Explaining something in the most long-winded and likely inaccurate way that a) was totally unsolicited and/or b) whoever you're telling definitely already knows (probably more about). Anyone can be a total asshole!
Don't condesplain my own name to me (I mean, unless you named me).
