Authorized Standard Version: An update of the King James Version published in 1901.
This version earned the reputation of being the Rock of Biblical Honesty. Although the English used in the ASV is somewhat archaic, it isn't nearly as hard to understand as some passages of the King James Version of nearly 3 centuries earlier. This translation of the Holy Bible is in the public domain.

The passage about the root of all evil is better translated in the ASV or NIV than the KJV.

Asvamedha

The ancient Aryan horse sacrifice.

Asvamedha was a Hindu, Vedic, ritual of horse sacrifice. It was performed by kings as a symbolic representation of their supreme power and authority, and, sometimes, for such blessings as the birth of a son to ensure succession. For the previous year the chosen horse wondered unmolested as he pleased in a pasture while protected by an armed guard. If he trespassed into another kingdom, the ruler was obliged to fight to keep the animal or surrender him. At the end of year the animal was brought back to the capital with appropriate ceremony, and sacrificed along with other animals. The fertility of this ceremony is evident from the way in which, symbolically, the senior queen would lie beside the dead horse. Jaya Sinah II of Jaipur was the last prince to perform this ceremony in the 18th century.

Asvitha

Asvitha is usually a girl of an Indian ethnicity. She usually gives off a very tomboy vibe but is actually very girly around the people she’s comfortable with. She’s someone that doesn’t open up easily, but if she does then you must be a really lucky person. She’s a master at hiding her problems and doesn’t let anything stop her from making sure her friends are happy with her goofiness and capability of laughing at almost anything. She’s actually really caring but just doesn’t know how to portray it at times. You can always trust her with all your deepest secrets because you know she won’t tell anyone. However, don’t even try to take advantage of her because she’s much smarter than you think. Although she may look vulnerable when she’s not easily manipulated and has a very strong mind of her own. She can also be very stubborn at times but is very open to other people’s opinions and will never judge a person based on their past or present actions because she always sees things from different perspectives. Not to mention how much of an intellectual she is, possessing multiple skills in both the arts and sports.

All in all, Asvitha is a very cheerful person that always has so much love to offer, as long as you’re willing to receive it. Her trustworthy, very comedic and loving self is definitely one of the best things anyone can look for in a friend. Whoever that has Asvitha as a friend; you’re lucky as hell.
