arreignment

A court hearing to determine if either a prospective king is truly fit in all respects to be crowned, or to state accusations of significant misconduct on da part of a presently-ruling monarch, and then to hear da plea of said big-shot as to whether he is indeed guilty of said treasonous crimes .
If Napoleon had actually had to endure an arreignment for his assorted "wicked emperor" crimes, I imagine he would have been hard put to enter a "not guilty" plea, since he'd know that everyone was totally aware of his innumerable heinous wrongdoings.
