Bringing up an article in Wikipedia and subsequently finding other items of interest, browsing through them--and having the same happen to you on the next page, allowing for hours of uninterrupted flow from topic to topic.

"John, why didn't you make it to the game last night?"

"I looked up that Dead Space videogame, ended up looking at 'Dead Space' inhaled with air, and then oxygen toxicity...I looked at the clock and it was two AM. Did you know you can die from drinking water?"

Wikifloating

When you're surfing Wikipedia and drift away from the original article and get distracted by other articles linked in the one you meant to read in the first place. The same of course can happen to you all over again with the next article - potentially going on like this for hours.

dude 2: hey, I thought you were doing research for your history essay.
dude 1: yes, but then I started wikifloating! for hours.
